Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Do I really need a lawyer?
Answer: If you are accused of a crime with the possibility of
jail time the answer is a resounding yes. The prosecutor is not your friend and does not have your best interests at heart. Likewise, if your driving privileges are on the line, you need a lawyer to assist you at a Motor Vehicle Administration hearing. An Administrative Law Judge has the power to suspend and/or revoke your privilege to drive and unless you have an experienced lawyer with you, you may lose your driver’s license.
Question: How much do your services cost?
Answer: We understand that cost is a common concern for our clients. Fees are based on, among other things, the nature of the charges, and the anticipated amount of time your case will take to be resolved. Each case is fact specific and you will be informed of the fee before you engage the firm. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Question: Will I go to jail?
Answer: This is inevitably everyone’s first question. The answer is always dependant on your history and the offense. Although I cannot make a specific guarantee as to the outcome of your case, I will do everything in my power to help you avoid incarceration.
Question: Why do I need to contact a lawyer immediately?
Answer: If you have been charged with a crime, you must act quickly as certain time limits exist for filing defense motions, and requesting hearings both in Court and at the Motor Vehicle Administration. Especially with DUI offenses, you have a short period of time in which to request a hearing otherwise you face the possibility of a suspended license. It is also important for your lawyer to have ample time to adequately prepare for your case prior to a trial date.
